The Mosquito Bandito

We made our annual run to the "Pumpkin Store" (you know, the place where somebody is getting rich selling pumpkins for $5 that he got by the ton.) The kids did pretty well, mainly because we only let them out of the car for a few minutes.

After the huge rains we had a couple weeks ago the mosquito population has been unbearable around our house. We can only play outside for a few minutes at a time because the mosquitoes start carrying the kids away. I even got this picture of Holden mid swat.

Holden never really knew what mosquitoes were until the past week and a half. He really gets it now.

I spoke too soon...

Addie decided to give Holden some of her "easy" puzzles, so she & Chris brought them down to Holden's room & put them nicely in the drawer for him to find later. Guess when he found them??? This is what I found when I went to check on him...

...Again, he always ends up nicely tucked in his bed, sleeping soundly.

Holden's Big Boy Bed

These past few weeks Holden has decided that he does not need to stay in his crib. So, we decided that he was ready to transition to his new room & big boy bunk beds downstairs. Yes, this means that we now have 2 monitors...Addie's on my side & Holden's on Chris'. We're thinking that when the baby comes, we'll have to have a shelf labeled with a monitor for each child.

He is doing pretty well...He wasn't too keen on the idea the first few nights when he tried to get out, but so far he always ends up sleeping in his bed when we go down to check on him.

I've included a few pictures of the week's progression!

I Love to Play

We are back home. Addie is transitioning to another med change. Pray that this new med is the one that controls her seizures.

U of M (Day 2)

The video pretty much speaks for itself...

It makes for a long day when Addie is only allowed out of bed for potty breaks.

We got a lot of information from the doctors today, we will probably even be going home tomorrow (Saturday).

U of M (Day 1)

We had an entire day to get Addie settled, she did pretty well considering the first thing they did was hook her up to the EEG before we ever even saw "our" room. Her EEG also did a strobe test to check for her reaction to the light, you can check that out below.

Notice we said "our" room, as we are currently sharing with 3 other kiddos! The accommodations really make Calvin's dorms look like luxury suites. We were really spoiled at Spectrum, but never even knew it. Addie has already tested all the bed controls, call buttons, and light controls. The food service is pretty efficient, they always ask, "Is this all for the patient?"

Once she was in the room she cuddled up in her blanket and relaxed pretty well until her new friend Saddie showed up.

Gator Repair 101

Holden has been working on his gator more lately than driving it, which is good, because he does not really get the whole idea of steering yet.
