Life with Epilepsy does not seem like a huge adjustment for Addie, Its her over-protective, touchy parents that are the difficult part.
One thing that Addie has been amazing about are doctor's appointments, tests, and blood draws. A couple of weeks ago we had to go to get some blood drawn and after waiting in the waiting room and seeing a few other people go in she said, "When is it going to be my turn?" We hadn't even told her why we were there...
Last week she had to have a 24-hour EEG. We had to go to the hospital during nap time to get the EEG attached and she had to wear it for 24 hours. She was awesome. She did even better than Beth and I. They glue 24 probes onto her scalp and she never even cried when they put then on or took them off.
Her borrowed four pound turtle backpack
Addie called it her "Ponytail of Many Colors"
Getting it all taken off.
Addie does not usually bribe very easily, so we typically don't even try. This time Beth and I had been so nervous about how she would do we told her we would go straight to the cottage if the EEG went well. Since Holden had already been up there for a couple of days with grandma, we thought it would only be fair.
In the world you will have trouble, but be courageous-I have overcome the world!
